Product Management
Manage Stores
The management of the multiple stores or departments for the eCommerce site can
be done using this section. It provides the ability to assign images for the
store and promotions in the store, manage the name, description, start date and
end date of the store. It also allows the user to use different stylesheets for
different stores to give each store their own look and feel. The categories and
products that belong to the store can also be configured from this section.
Manage Categories
Products can be categorized into different groups in order to make them easily
accessible. This solution allows the user to create a hierarchy of categories
and sub-categories. The categories can be configured with an image and a
description along with the name of the category.
Manage Extended Properties
Besides the basic properties like name, description, price, etc., many products
can have extended properties which are specific to the store/category
combination to which the product belongs. The solution provides an efficient
way to create extended properties for different stores and categories. These
extended properties are inherited by all products that belong to the respective
stores and categories. The solution also provides an efficient way to assign
extended properties for different stores and categories which had been created
using manage extended properties.
Manage Products
The user has the ability to search and edit existing products or create new
products.
A section has been provided to give the entire summary of any product along
with the ability to add a similar product which helps creating similar products
quickly by duplicating all relevant data between the products, edit the product
information, delete the product or print the products summary.
Top Products
In order to give the customers the ability to view the top selling products on
the eCommerce site, this section has been provided to allow the user to list
the top 5 products in each store since a configurable date.
New Products
The last 5 new products introduced in each configured store can be retrieved
and presented to the customer using this section.
Global Updates
When you are dealing with thousands of products and have a need to update one
or more attribute of these products with a common value it would be very time
consuming to update one product at a time. In order to make this process less
time consuming a couple of sections have been provided to update some of the
major attributes of the products by store/category combination.
Greeting Cards & Wrapping Papers
Ecom-Sol supports the sending of a greeting card along with shipments going to
friends and family. It also allows the customers to request the items to be
gift wrapped. In order to give the customer a range of greeting cards and
wrapping papers, the following sections have been created to configure the
required cards and papers
Shipment Blocking Rules
Different states and shippers could have restrictions on shipping some products
from or to a state. This section gives the user a very open ended way to
configure these restrictions. The restrictions that are set in this section are
honored by the ordering process thus preventing restricted products from
shipping into or from states that disallow them. This section can also disallow
the customers from selecting shipping and/or shipping methods that cannot be
used for shipping certain products to or from specific states.
